Dr., I've been using Minoxidil 5% twice daily for four months. Unexpectedly, I experienced a shedding phase when I started. I noticed about 30 thin, weak hairs in my hand while shampooing. I also used a 2mm derma roller before applying Minoxidil, and I think I might have overdosed it in the beginning. As a result, I experienced hair growth on my hands, chest, and cheeks due to systemic absorption. I stopped using the derma roller and now apply Minoxidil once daily and with a smaller amount compared to before. My hair loss has stopped with Minoxidil, but the hair lost during shedding phase caused to reduce volume in my hair and there are no any improvemnet besides stopping hair loss. Three days ago, my dermatologist prescribed 1mg of Finasteride daily, but I'm hesitant to use it even though I bought 20 tablets. Will Minoxidil be enough on its own, or should I use Finasteride to help with DHT reduction? If I do use Finasteride, how often should I take it? I was thinking about taking a quarter(0.25mg) of a tablet every other day. What is the lowest dose and how frequently should i take for getting benifits?(I saw a previous video where you mentioned prescribing 0.5mg of Finasteride every other day for patients with a fear of Finasteride to achieve benefits) Additionally, I have oily skin with acne on my chest some times shoulders, and back. I thought Finasteride might help with sebum control, but I've learned that it only affects type 2 5-alpha reductase, while sebaceous glands have type 1. That is the another reason i wanted finesteride. (I am 20 years old)

Sir my 2 month hairloss update: I am using ketoconazle shampoo and finastride now I am noticing my hair shedding reduced by 40-50 to 10-15(shampoo day) no hair shed during combing and my scalp itchy and pain go away. Sir i am 18 years old i take fin 1 mg daily should i cut out dose? I have no side effects

Doctor..many people says minoxidil works for like 5-7 years after that hair will fall means it looses its effectiveness. In that case if we switch to oral minoxidil will it work?? I am currently using finastride 0.5mg daily and for some regrowth i want to add minoxidil but i am afraid of its long term effectivness(works only for 5-7 years)

After one month of applying minoxidil 5 percent can i change it to minoxidil with finastride 5 percent solution

Is it possible to have a hair transplant without being on finasteride? I have high temples but the rest of my hair is dense. It’s just the temples. When I look at older photos I see that I got them at 19 and I‘m almost 25 now and since then nothing changed.
